General Provisions

RULES

of combat sambo competitions
of the European Combat Sambo Federation

The Combat Sambo Competition Rules (hereinafter referred to as the Rules) have been developed in accordance with the requirements of the Charter of the European Combat Sambo Federation (hereinafter referred to as the ECSF), taking into account competition practice accumulated between 2001 and 2021, as well as the analysis of previous World Championships, European Championships and other international tournaments held during the period from 2001 to 2021.

The World Championships, European Championships and international Combat Sambo competitions shall be conducted in accordance with these Rules and the Competition Regulations approved by the European Combat Sambo Federation (ECSF).

Combat Sambo competitions may be held on a standard wrestling mat, tatami, boxing ring, octagonal cage or any other eight-sided enclosed competition area that ensures the safety of competitors and has been approved by the Main Refereeing Board as suitable for conducting bouts in which athletes may demonstrate technical actions.

The results of Combat Sambo competitions of all levels, as well as competitions in other universal combat disciplines, are thoroughly analysed by ECSF specialists for the purpose of further development and improvement of Combat Sambo worldwide.

These Rules have been approved by the Resolution of the ECSF Executive Board, supersede all previous editions and constitute the sole official regulatory document governing the organization and conduct of Combat Sambo competitions from 29 October 2021.
